Prompt Engineering Reflection:

After creating my resume, I had decided to use ChatGPT in enhance my resumes to target specific working industries – retail and healthcare. I had used the same prompt but changed the industry to receive the results that I was looking for: 

Prompt for Retail Targeted Resume: 

“Create a professional resume that is targeted to a retail position with the use of the information provided on the existing resume.” 

Prompt for Healthcare Targeted Resume: 

“Create a professional resume that is targeted to a career in healthcare with the information provided in the existing resume” 

With the use of AI, there was a pretty decent number of differences. For instance, in both AI-advanced resumes, it changed the format of my professional summary to become a paragraph while also creating a new section to list ‘Key Skills’ for my retail resume and ‘Core Strengths’ for my healthcare resume. For my retail resume, it had left all of my job experience while my healthcare resume had listed my childcare work experience as “relevant” while my other job positions were listed as “additional work experience.” 

What the use of AI for alter my resumes taught me is that the AI takes my provided information to display it in an organizational way depending on what industry I am looking to apply in. While some of these differences seem minor, it had made sense for the audiences being targeted. By tailoring my information, it had highlighted relevant information for what I was looking for.
